The Hilltop Trail
Also created by local forester and co-founder’s husband, Adam; our hilltop trail is a private place to hike. The children look for animal tracks, listen for birds, study fungi, and learn about the trees. In this area we have a meeting spot to pull out our journals or have a chat, and a longer trail loop for more hiking.
In the forest, the children are taught the importance and awareness of safety. This means learning to identify poison ivy, talking about potentially dangerous animals, and watching for various hazards.
